Japan-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers posted 62,577 million yen in orders in September 2012 (three-month average basis) and a book-to-bill ratio of 0.65, according to the September 2012 Book-to-Bill Ratio published today by the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ). A book-to-bill ratio of 0.65 means that 65 yen worth of new orders was received for every 100 yen of product billed for the month.
The three-month average of worldwide bookings in September 2012 was 62,577 million yen. The bookings figure is 8.5 percent down the final August 2012 level of 68,381 million yen and 21.3 percent down the September 2011 bookings level of 79,481 million yen.
The three-month average of worldwide billings in September 2012 was 95,564 million yen. The billings figure is 2.9 percent up the final August 2012 level of 92,864 million yen and 10.2 percent down the September 2012 billings level of 106,450 million yen.
